This unit was manufactured in the Bombardier plant in Thunder Bay, Ontario with final assembly in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Its destination is the Altamont Commuter Express rail service in California, which runs between Stockton and San Jose. This car travelled west across Canada and will likely enter the U.S. (Idaho) on the Kingsgate Sub to be picked up by Union Pacific. At 105 meters (344 feet) above the water and 1839 meters (1.14 miles) long, this is the longest and highest steel railroad bridge of its type in the world. When the locomotives had cleared the bridge, the end of the unit grain consist had still not come on to the bridge. For a better view of the bridge, search for 'CP3084_6' and/or 'High_Level_Bridge'.
