In for bad battery bank. to tall for shop doors, must remove ac unit and horns. all like units in fort worth will be sent to houston(last info). From: "Jeff Reams" jreams001 -AT- columbus -DOT- rr -DOT- com Date: Fri Oct 31 20:14:24 2008 Subject: Ohio Central B23-7R 4099 leads the Mt. Vernon Local towards Mt. Vernon, Ohio. This line runs from Newark, Ohio to Mt. Vernon, Ohio. The line follows Ohio St. Rt 13. Track speed on this line is 10 mph and makes it very easy to chase. This unit was built as a U23B for the Western Pacific in June 1972 as Western Pacific 2265. This unit has EMD trucks from retired F-Units. It was rebuilt in 1989 with modern dash 8 stlye carbodies. They kept their EMD Blomberg trucks. It went to Conrail as 2040 then to the NS in the Conrail split of 1999 where it was numbered 4099. image/jpeg, 1200x798 (24bit) Picture_036.jpg 259160 bytes |

From: "Gordon Bermejo" duckyduck -AT- inet -DOT- net -DOT- nz Date: Tue Jan 17 14:44:14 2006 Subject: Heaps of horsepower here, makes a change for the way we power our trains, 2 DX's lead 2 DC's along the Omoto Bank just a couple of minutes from Greymouth. The DX's will be reduced at Greymouth for the DC's to take the train to Rapahoe for loading, the DC's will be used owing to axle weight and loco size on the old Cobden Bridge over the Grey River, the DX's will be re-attached for the running of the loaded train out of Greymouth while the two DC's will remain behind and be used later in the night for Greymouth to Christchurch freight operations. Built for large fast freight traffic, 2-8-0 configuration, constructed between 1903 and 1942.3822 was built in Swindon during 1940, for hauling coal and iron ore trains from South Wales to London. She is, presently, liveried in GWR wartime black. The train is led by Ohio Central C-30-7. This unit was built as Union Pacific 2538 then renumbered as 531. The unit then went to the NHIR in 2002 as 531. It then ended up on the Ohio Central in 2006. The second unit is Ohio Central 7137 a C-36-7. The unit was built Conrail 6639 in June 1985. The unit went to Norfolk Southern in the Conrail split of 1999 where it renumbered NS 8490.
