Here are a few scenes from the CNE RR Train Ride from Hartford to Griffins CT Saturday. We had perfect weather and the ride was great. Yours truly got to ride in the engine cab. Parts of the trip were at a slow "rock and roll" 12 MPH pace over original CNE rails more than 100 years old. The wavy rails are original CNE 79 pound rail from about 1898. Notice in the second photo there is an original CNE cattle loading chute still standing to the right of the tracks.

The turnaround point for the trip was the home base of the currently operating incarnation of the CNE. Our thanks and a round of applause for A. J. Belliveau and his crew for a great ride with great service.

Bernie
