Trains Newswire:  DETROIT - A group dedicated to saving the majestic Michigan
Central depot in Detroit has launched an online petition encouraging the
city's council to reconsider ordering demolition. The petition is available
for viewing and signing at http://michigancentraldepot.com.

The abandoned station has fallen into disrepair, and is now covered in
graffiti. After the April 7 decision to order the station's demolition, an
official with a group known as the Eclipse Foundation sued to save the
structure. He claims in his lawsuit the demolition violates federal law
dedicated to preserving historic structures.
