A leading railway magazine has called the Duluth Depot one of the nation's
10 best railroad museums.
I visited this museum when I was in Duluth a few years ago for the NRHS
convention and was very impressed. I certainly concur that it is one of 10
best railroad museums in the country -- the only ones I;ve visited that might
be considered better are the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento
and Steamtown in Scranton. What I particularly admire about the Duluth museum
is that their exhibits tell a story about the growth of railroads in the
area -- something that most railroad museums do not do. In addition, they have
an excellent collection of equipment.
