Built in 1873, the depot was unused after 1946, and moved in 1974 to its
present site a block east of the tracks.  A new Metra commuter station
for Wilmette opened a few years ago.  See history and a photo at:

Depot Nuevo is best described as a melding of Latin American sights and
flavors.
