A Curious Cuban Jewel: Morón Railroad Station

One of the buildings that most attract those who visit Morón city is the
Railroad Station. Although the construction of this structure concluded in 1923,
as still can be read on the inscription topping its facade, it was not
inaugurated until July 14, 1924.

Previously only a similar one had been built, the Railroad Station of
Havana. This one in Moron, from the architectural point of view, followed the
eclectic codes of its time, but is rather distinguished by a marked neocolonial
influence.

The building has two floors. The first one was always used as railroad
station and the second hosted the railroad offices and gave lodging to some of the
employees.
Declared Local Monument, this building is representative of Moron city and
constitutes a reason of pride for local residents.
