It is a big job, one that RSHS Director Mark Camp does almost single-handedly. Mark welcomes updates and corrections from others who have visited railroad structures and depots listed, or found structures not on the list. Mark depends on others to provide the information on the website.

Mark does not want to duplicate efforts by others for particular states and therefore didn't have a listing for New Jersey (or MA, or PA, or OH). I volunteered to provide a listing of NJ depots but other projects keep coming up. Hopefully soon we will have info for NJ listed.

I was in South Carolina this past weekend with other RSHS members, reviewing the routes and the depots to be visited during the May RSHS Charleston, SC convention. Our host, Ted Xakellis, has planned a full extended weekend of tours of South Carolina depots, plus we will partake in some fine South Carolina eateries, as well as some depot dining in Columbia's Union Station.

Unfortunately, one depot that was on the tour, Effingham, SC, could not be found and we almost gave up on it, when we realized we had found the site, but the depot was gone, most likely bulldozed based on the tracks on the ground. It had been there in November '07.

So join us in May - before any more depots are gone. More information on the convention is on the RRSHS website at http://www.rrshs.org/Conventions/conventions.htm

Take a look and consider joining us in South Carolina.

Membership in the RSHS is still only $12. An application is here - http://www.trainweb.org/rshs/Join%20the%20RSHS.htm
