Schumer wants funds freed up for train station
 
JAMESTOWN — Sen. Charles Schumer is urging federal officials to free up $2.6  
million in transportation funding for Jamestown’s train station project.  
Lee Harkness, executive director of Jamestown Development Corporation, said  
any help Schumer can give to move the Jamestown Gateway Station and Visitors  
Center project is appreciated. The funding also would complete the Jamestown  
Riverwalk Connector Trail. The city hopes to jump-start the longawaited  
revitalization of the vacant Erie- Lackawanna Railroad Station and tie it to the  
Riverwalk Connector Trail.
