I drove by this place about 20 years ago, and if my memory is correct, this building was in good shape and in use at that time. Something must have happened to the user since that time since it appears that it is now unused and in declining condition. Whatever the use was, it was not railroad related.

This building had ceased to be a railroad station in the early 50's, or whenever service south of Greenville MS on the old Y&MV ended. I know exactly when, but it was before 1960. This station is north of the point where the Alabama and Vicksburg came into town, so trains on that line could not have used this station unless they made a back up move. Whether they ever did, I do not know. Within the limits of time that I know, the east west train between Meridian and Shreveport did not use this station but stopped at a station referred to as the Cherry St. Station if I recall the name correctly. Therefore, even if the long talked about Crescent connection to Texas train happens, it will not go by or use this station.
