    I remember a visit to the Piermont station about 15  years ago.  At the 
time, the station was used as a residence by an elderly  man who was the son of 
the last station agent.  The New York Times ran an  article about him, and a 
friend and I decided to pay a visit.  We just  knocked on the door, and he 
invited us in and spent about half an hour showing  us around and talking about 
the good old days.  I'm glad to see that the  building has been restored and 
will be preserved.
