By now all current members of the RSHS should have received the
September-October issue of the Bulletin along with a copy of Monograph
No. 25 "Buffalo Central Terminal - Construction of a Transportation
Landmark". This 44-page slick-paper soft cover booklet is part of the
2006 membership.
I read the entire monograph this past weekend. It is a really nice booklet.
I remember the terminal in the 1960s when it was on its last legs, and most
of the concourse was closed off by temporary walls. I also see it whenever
I pass by on the Lake Shore Limited. It is sad to see that such a
magnificent building has deteriorated to such an extent, but it's nice to hear that
efforts are being made to restore it.
