(rshsdepot) Woonsocket Depot Weathervane

Just in case some of you haven't heard, the copper weathervane that
stood atop the Providence & Worcester Railroad Depot in downtown
Woonsocket, RI from 1882 to 1971 was recently sold at auction for
$1,216,000. That's the current world record for a weathervane. This
is the second that it's held the title. When it was originally auctioned in
1987, it fetched $203,500. You've got to admit that it would make a
fine addition to anyone's train room. BTW, after the original vane was
removed from the depot building, a replica was commissioned by the
new owners. The replica was so good that it got stolen !!!
