I have forwarded your mission and website to the webmaster of the Historic
Bridges In the News website,
http://www.iceandcoal.org/bridges/bridgenews.html
However, I might advise you that, in my experience, concrete arch bridges
are perhaps the most difficult type of bridge to preserve . I have been
involved in two attempts to preserve concrete arch bridges, and both were
condemned to failure because the same deterioration that necessitated the
retirement of the bridge also left them susceptible to catastrophic (i.e.
overnight, all-at-once, not fatal) failure. Both bridges were eventually
demolished, with sympathetic architectural designs built into the
replacements.
