Here's my best educated guess from your description:
It sounds like he may be referring to the "Cascade Tunnel" which definitely makes it a Great Northern Calendar. In the late 1920's and early 1930's, GN calendars incorporated portraits of Indians by a variety of artists (1930 was Winold Reiss). Each complete calendar consisted of 12 monthly cardstock sheets, measuring approximately 10" x 22" and each with a different Native American portrait. Here's the rub: A complete calendar (all 12 sheets) is valued at $300 - $350, but if he has only found one sheet, the value is only about $40 - 50.
So if your friend has found a complete 12 page GN Calendar from 1930 with all 12 Indian portraits for $120, tell him to jump on it. If it's only one page, the price is about 3X what its worth.
Hope this has been helpful!

this cool calendar I want to buy, from 1930 with a drawing of an Indian on it from a Train line, I think err, ‘crusade’ or ‘tunnel’ lines…? I should check. The calendar is super cool, but expensive, $120 or so… things like that must accrue in value, what with it being both train and Indian. Do you think $120 would be too much to pay for that?
