Re: (rshsdepot) memorabilia costs question
It really depends upon the condition of the calendar and the popularity (and size) of the railway. If it was a Santa Fe Super Chief calendar, they are not that rare. Does it have all the leaves (or is it a single print with all dates showing?)
Again, if it was a Santa Fe calendar, there are bound to be thousands around (they printed for a large clientele...a smaller line would have a smaller press run.)
I tend to think it's quite a steep price. You might want to check EBay (if this isn't being sold on E-Bay) for similar items and see what the asking/selling prices are...butb then bagin, if you simply can't resisit it, and it is sa msller line, it may be worth that.
Just be careful, there are plenty of facsimilies around being sold as originals...here in Canada people have recently been buying Intercolonial Railway calendars only to find they have been digitally remastered and

The calendar is super cool, but expensive, $120 or so… things like that must accrue in value, what with it being both train and Indian. Do you think $120 would be too much to pay for that?
