(rshsdepot) Morton Station Reminder: Borough Council Meetings Wed 8/3 and 8/10

MORTON STATION PRESRVATION COMMITTEE
Supporters Needed at August Morton Council &
Springfield Commissioners Meetings

Hello everyone:

Just a friendly reminder - It is crucial that we have a good show of support at both August Morton Borough Council meetings. The Council will be discussing and voting on the Delaware County Renaissance Program grant application, which if approved will provide a substantial amount of funding for the Westbound Passenger Shelter restoration.

Discussion will take place at their agenda meeting:

Wednesday, August 3, 7:30 PM, Morton Borough Hall, Highland Avenue & Alfa Terrace

The vote will be at the regular meeting:

Wednesday, August 10, 7:30 PM, Morton Borough Hall

Both meetings are open to the public. Residants and non-residents may attend. Public comment will be heard at both meetings.

We are also asking the Springfield Commissioners to endorse the application as a supporting municipality, which will be very helpful given the current emphasis on joint municipal planning by the county. We would like to have supporters, especially those who live in Springfield, at the Springfiled Commissioners Meeting:

Tuesday, August 9, 8:00 PM, Springfield Township Building, 50 Powell Road (Next to Library)

I realize that is is a very busy time, but please try to attend one or more of the meetings if at all possible. If the Morton and Springfield can secure this grant to augment the funding we have already raised, it will really help to ensure that all of our hard pays off.

Thanks for all of your help.

Sincerely,

Mario Cimino
President
Morton Station Preservation Committee
