Subject: Boca, California railroad station
Hello,
In the late 1950's my uncle bought the old train station at Boca, California for $100. Apparently he was the highest - and only - bidder. Unfortunately he could only buy the structure, and had to lease the land under it for $100/year.
In 1967, Southern Pacific Railroad terminated the lease and told my uncle to move his station. So his brothers and cousins and their families helped tear it down, salvaged what they could, and cried as the foundation beams were burned.
Recently we decided to present a window box containing artifacts from Boca to my uncle for his 80th birthday, and discovered no one in the family ever took a picture of the station. I'm hoping you can help us locate one.
Thank you,
Ivan Wells
