Heritage Toronto Walk - Union Station and the Railway Lands

Saturday, June 25, 2005 at 1:30 p.m.

Union Station is arguably Canada's most magnificent railway terminal.
When it opened in 1927, a vast complex of shops, yards, engine houses
and turntables serviced the steam locomotives and intercity passenger
trains that operated out of Toronto. We'll explore Union Station, the
John Street roundhouse and see how the railway lands have been
redeveloped in the last three decades.

LEADER: Derek Boles, Toronto Railway Historical Association
START POINT: Galleria on north side of Air Canada Centre (Bay St,
south of railway tracks)
FINISH POINT: Union Station, Front St
  LENGTH: Approx. 2 1/2 hours
  FOCUS: Historical, architectural
DIFFICULTY: Long walk with slopes and many stairs

All HT walks are free of charge.
