Port Jervis, NY was a division point on the Erie RR (later Erie Lackawanna RR) and formerly was the site of a large classification yard with a roundhouse and turntable.  In the 1990's the turntable was restored and used to "turn" the C&O 614 steamer on its jaunts from Hoboken, NJ.  The D&H canal passed  through town and a branch of the NYO&W terminated in town.

Unfortunately, at least right now for the residents of Port Jervis, the east side of town is also the junction of the Neversink River and the Delaware River.  And both rivers are prone to leaving their banks...

Port Jervis 1 shows the turntable area.
Port Jervis 2 shows the street underpass beneath the Erie tracks.
Port Jervis 3 shows the west end of the former yard.
Port Jervis 4 and 5 show the river crossings, but I'm not sure which is which river.
