Re: (rshsdepot) North Pemberton Railroad Station



The startegy sounds like Irving Oil, so in that sense, NJ is exactly like Canada (except we DO have
hockey teams, in four leagues still playing here, eh!)
Irving Oil also owns the site of the old station in Fredericton, New Brunswick, which has been allowed
to fall into a decrepit state, and sits on valuable downtown land.
Irving has been shunning all attempts to preserve and renovate that building, although it's not clear
what they intend to develop there.
The company has said it wants a proposal that will generate traffic in the area, so it may be that a
hotel is planned. Much of the area was hidden from public view until last year when the old grain silos
were torn down, and the station became more visible.
Your Super Wa Wa may be being built close to the museum because the museum is seen by the company to be
a traffic generator (tourists gassing up before moving on.) Perhaps that might give you some leverage to
get concessions out of them?
