Re: (rshsdepot) seeking information
There are a number of depots in North Carolina that fit the model that you are speaking of. Rocky Mount is both an active Amtrak station and a multi-use building, with the Chamber of Commerce, local transit, the ACL-SAL Historical Society and several offices housed there. Going to the North Carolina site within www.rrshs.org<http://www.rrshs.org/> will lead you to them.

Subject: (rshsdepot) seeking information
Hello,
I am currently working on a planning project for the depot in Duluth,
Minnesota. As part of this project, I am researching other depots around
the country.
I am specifically looking for depots that have been restored and are
being used for multiple purposes. The Duluth Depot is used for a
railroad museum, children's museum, historical exhibits, community
theater and office space as well as special events. I would like to
identify other depots that have similar uses.
Additionally, I am looking for information on management structures. Are
there depots with multiple organizations involved in its operation,
fundraising, etc.? The Duluth Depot is owned by the county, managed by
an in-house organization (Historic Union Depot) and financially
supported in part by a "friends" group - the Depot Foundation. Again, I
am looking for similar examples to learn more about suggested
communication/management structures.
If you have examples and would be willing to share additional
information - or provide an appropriate contact person, please contact
me by return email. Thank you for your help!
