(rshsdepot) 4. Bangor, Ca., part 4-last (Woodland, Davis, Portola, Cal; WP Elko , Nev.; TP&W Gridley, Ill.)



Woodland is north of Davis, here is Northern Electric interurban. This 1926

Freight went through here until late 1940s, was later used by Greyhound
1940s and 1950s, Railway Express Agency stayed until 1960. Someone bought
the deteriorating building in 1986, knocked it down and built a recreation
from the original plans.

The Davis Subway (Richards Underpass), built 1917, formed by the last
remaining I-beam railroad bridge in use in California. This was part of the
first state highway, part of the Lincoln Highway:
