"This photo exhibit differs slightly from others that have shown in Ely since the images are all printed from high quality digital printers, Museum Director Sean Pitts said. "The result is a dramatic series of images that capture the best of the Nevada Northern yards and rolling stock."

The exhibit's opening reception coincides with the Long Steel Rails Festival. Long Steel Rails is a celebration of railroad folklife scheduled to run from June 11-13. Events include folk singers, workshops, lectures, train rides, food and a street dance on Friday evening. For a complete schedule and ticket information, call the museum at (775) 289-1663.

The East Ely Railroad Depot Museum is located at 1100 Avenue A, Ely. Summer hours, May through September: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 8 to 5 p.m. Collections focus on the area's massive copper production in 1900 and the subsequent industrial development. The Depot building and freight barn were given to the State of Nevada in 1990 for establishment of a museum in eastern Nevada. The museum and related railroad complex is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
