There are actually 4 Minsk railway stations with links to pictures in this
message...
Minsk has been the capital of Belarus from 1991; first mentioned 1067,
independent principality by 12th century. Under Lithuanian dominion from
14th century, annexed by Russia as a result of the second partition of
Poland 1793...capital of Belorussian SSR from 1919; occupied by Germany
1941-1944...

There is a commuter network out of Minsk as well as intercity trains to
cities such as Moscow, Warsaw, St. Petersburg; Here are pictures when the

Here is Recreation Park Station on the Children's Railway in Minsk in the
1950's..with steam train... this is quite an amazing picture (postcard):

Here is a(n old) railway map of Minsk area, Minsk is upper right, Mogilev
the city to the right of it, Rogachev is one of the other larger stops south
of Mogilev, the one at bottom of map probably...:(Mahilyou must be current
name for Mogalev, Homel is the other city I didn't know)
