City hoping to build new train pavilion

As Rocky Mount train riders prepare to ride the rails to New York or
Florida, city officials want people to stop and learn about the rich history
of the railroad.

At the same time, they don't want riders missing their trains. They hope to
build a new pavilion to accomplish both purposes.

On Monday, the Rocky Mount City Council authorized the city to submit an
application to the N.C. Department of Transportation for a grant to
construct a new pavilion in front of the station.
