The former NYS&W Railroad station located on West Fort Lee Rd in
Bogota, NJ may not be standing long. Demolition permits are to be
issued on Tuesday 9/30/03.
The station building is attached to what once was a tile display show
room owned by FUDA Tile.
A grade crossing accident with a HESS gasoline truck and NYS&W
locomotives several years ago resulted in the spill of over 8000
gallons of gasoline that lead to the contamination of the soil
beneath the old station building and surrounding ground area around
the building.
To remeadiate the spill the building must be demolished and the
ground soil removed.
Get your pictures while you can even though the buliding is grafted
to a more modern sturcture you can see the west side of the station
clearly defined.
Just thought list might want to know !
