also called Park Row Terminal c. 1895.
At this time, this was exclusively the Bridge line, the Brooklyn Bridge
RR, both steam and cable. I had thought that the streetcars went on the
outside. Maybe it was lower level which was still above street level.
The departing train would head to Sands Street Station on the Brooklyn
side.
Towering behind the terminal is the World Building (Pulitzer Building),
the tallest building in the world 1890-1894, to the left we see the
steeple on top of the Tribune Building..
The scale is tricky here. The World Bldg. 310 feet, Tribune 275'...I
think the World Trade Center Towers would have taken up almost the
entire width in the background in this view...
