At least I think this is 3rd Avenue El question, maybe it involves the
2nd Ave El as well.

OK, what is with the doubledecking? First, are we looking west or east?
Is the doubledecking for an express train tracks or maybe where two
lines had come together near Division Street? Or is the second El
peaking through just past this structure?
I know at one time the 3rd Avenue El was New York Elevated RR Company
and the 2nd Avenue El was Metropolitan RR Company, so maybe they were
one on top of the other from Division Street to the Battery as they came
down New Bowery..
OK that is my guess, that this is New Bowery Street south of where the 2
east side El lines joined, I don't know which is on top; and the El line
peaking out behind is the branch heading to City Hall down Park Row..and
this might not be a station but just south of what was Chambers Square
station where all these lines met.
Which was on top?
