(rshsdepot) O&W Depots
The Ontario & Western Railway Historical Society has a lot going on of
interest to depot fans=2E=20
The Publications Committee (chaired by John Taibi, owner and resident of
the O&W Munnsville, NY depot) has announced that the 2004 O&W calendar wil=
l
be a study of depots=2E Eighteen still extant depots are in the running f=
or
use in the calendar where photos will portray them as they are in 2002 (in=
color) and as they were in service (in B&W)=2E=20
Also, of interest to NY state shortline railroad fans, the O&WRHS will be
publishing a history of the Middletown & New Jersey Railroad as an Observe=
r
publication=2E
The O&WRHS has printed two new trip guides in 2001 and 2002, replacing the=
well-regarded Trip Guides published in the late 1970=92s and early 1980=92=
s=2E=20
The first covered NYO&W=92s Southern Division and the second covered the
Monticello, Port Jervis and Kingston Division=2E These guides are invalua=
ble
for finding, viewing and photographing the remaining structures along the
O&W, providing history, photographs, and detailed driving directions=2E=20=
Preparations are underway for the next guide; The O&W from Liberty to
Sidney and the Delhi Branch=2E
