Per the  following NS Bulletin, NS will be manning "DB" Drawbridge on
Tuesdays, presumably to allow the NS local from Croxton to serve the Newar=
k
and Orange Branches=2E

connected to the Montclair Line via a new connection track=2E All NJT traf=

In addition to this change, the Harrisburg Division Lehigh Line Train
Dispatcher will control the remaining trackage between MP 11=2E7 and West
End, MP 2=2E2=2E The Lehigh Line Dispatcher can be contacted on Road Chann=

NORAC Rule 97 is in effect on No=2E 1 and No=2E 2 Track between MP 11=2E7 =
and
"DB", and on Single Track between "DB" and West End, MP 2=2E2=2E These run=
ning
tracks are under the control of the Lehigh Line Dispatcher=2E

The Single Track between "DB" and West End, MP 2=2E2, is designated the We=
st
End Running Track=2E

No=2E 1 and No=2E 2 Tracks are designated No=2E 1 and No=2E 2 Orange Runni=
ng
Tracks, respectively

Restricted Speed not exceeding 15 MPH applies on all Running Track except
10 MPH over Bridge at MP 7=2E6 [WR draw]

A new hand-operated facing point switch for eastward movements on No=2E 1
Track (NJT) is placed in service at MP 11=2E7=2E The switch governs moveme=
nts
to either the new NJT connection track or to No=2E 1 Orange R=2ET=2E The s=
witch
is equipped with an electric lock with a 5'00" time release=2E Norfolk
Southern crews destined to No=2E 1 Orange R=2ET=2E at MP 11=2E7 must first=
 get
permission from the NJT Train Dispatcher to operate the electric lock, and=

permission from the Lehigh Line Dispatcher for permission to occupy No=2E =
1
Orange R=2ET=2E=20

The location of the hand-operated switch at MP 11=2E7 is designated "Clair=
=2E"=20


"DB" Interlocking Station will be in service continuously until 4:00 PM,
Tuesday, Oct=2E 1, 2002=2E After that time, "DB" will become a part time
Interlocking Station manned each Tuesday between the hours of 8:00 AM and
4:00 PM until further notice=2E

Northern Region System Section Timetable Special Instruction 138-2 is in
effect at all road crossings equipped with automatic highway warning
devices=20

No=2E 2 Orange R=2ET=2E at MP 11=2E7 (Clair) has been disconnected=2E Norf=
olk
Southern crews operating to and from Dover and destined to the Orange
Industrial Track must operated on No=2E 1 Orange R=2ET=2E

Of ancillary note is the fact that "DB" drawbridge (Hackensack River) on
the Greenwood Lake/Boonton Line west of Bergen Jct=2E was also removed fro=

of the last train (1077?) on Friday, September 20th=2E The Star Ledger
(Newark, NJ) carried a nice article on the last operator in Tuesday's (Sep=

24th) edition=2E Presumably any freight service still existing east of
Montclair on the ex-Erie Greenwood Lake will be serviced from the west end=

of the stub at Montclair=2E This would seem to indicate that the swing bri=
dge
at West Arlington (old "WR" interlocking - Passaic River) would have to
remain in service, as to close it would completely isolate any existing
freight service on the old Erie Newark Branch east of the long closed "NX"=

Draw (Passaic River)=2E A final note: The orphan segment will be single
tracked=2E
