Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH) to sponsor conference,
All Aboard! Conference on Adirondack Railroad Architecture and Heritage
Join Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH), the regional nonprofit
preservation organization for the Adirondack Park, on Thursday, October 10,
2002, for All Aboard! Conference on Adirondack Railroad Architecture and
Heritage at the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, New York.
Plenary sessions will include an overview of Adirondack railroads, their
history and lore, the story of those who built them and those who made them
run, preservation and restoration of historic rails and stations, round
table discussions on revitalization, and the future of railroading in the
Adirondacks and beyond. Special guests and speakers include J. Winthrop
Aldrich, Deputy Commissioner of the New York State Department of Parks,
Recreation, and Historic Preservation, Amy Godine, social historian and
author, and Michael Bozak, architect, engineer, and railroad
preservationist.
The conference fee of $60 per person includes all day sessions, from 9 am to
4 pm, lunch, museum admission, exhibits, fall passes to regional scenic
railroads, and additional activities from 4pm to 6 pm. Call Adirondack

Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH) is the regional, nonprofit
historic preservation organization for the Adirondack Park. This event is
one of over sixty events AARCH is offering on our 2002 program schedule.
