Re: (rshsdepot) Binghamton-Syracuse but not Binghamton-New York

Ontrack has been in existence for the past five plus years, well before t
hey announced DestiNY. It starts in historic Armory Square in Syracuse,
goes south to the Carrier Dome and north and east to the present Carousel
Mall. It uses old Budd cars and is the epitome of "shake and bake" - sh
ake with the condition of the track, and bake in the summer's heat. It i
sn't well used except for events at the Carrier Dome, such as football ga
mes and concerts. The NYS&W depot at Armory Square is of interest - it i
s new, retro looking and right next door to the Old (circa 1940's) DL&W s
tation that is now an office building. Also, when the eventually complete
it, Ontrack will arrive at the fairly new Syracuse multi-modla transport
ation Center (intercity busses and Amtrak.
