Fredericksburg Line 10th Anniversary Festival

Join us Saturday, July 20, 2002 from 9:30 am to 12 noon for our 10th
Anniversary Celebration Festival.  In honor of the start of the
Fredericksburg Line, we will host a celebration festival at the historic
Fredericksburg Station featuring honored guests, Congressman Tom Davis and
Congresswoman Jo Ann Davis; a special FREE excursion train; and a host of
special treats for kids of all ages!

The excursion train will leave Fredericksburg station at 10:00 am and head
north for a 45 minute round trip ride. The ride is FREE. No presale tickets
will be available: the first 600 people in line will be able to ride. In
addition, the parking lot in the front of the station will feature clowns,
face painting and other assorted treats.  For more information, visit

Many commuters take the VRE to the D.C. area for employment.
SimplyFredericksburg was at the train station on several different occasions
and we have some nice photos of the station, plus a few historic photos of
the station. The current station was built in 1910 (now a restaurant) and
stands behind the raised platform.
