Re: (rshsdepot) An architectural question.

Indeed there are some similarities in Pope's RF&P Broad Street Union station
and White's library but after the hexagonal dome structure there isn't much.
The station has 6 columbs while the library 10. The station has 2 flanking
wing projections with smooth pillars and the usual tripple arched 2 story
windows along with full 2 1/2 story wings while the library has only one
story entrance doors...etc...all the way up to the station's wrap around
first story canopy to the fact that it was designed 20 years later.

What is more interesting, is Pope's successor's Eggers & Higgins who
finished up Pope's work and went on create the Railroad Pavilion at the 1939
Wold's Fair in Long Island and several railroad structures in Elmira, NY in
1942-3.
