Omigod, not the (in)famous Budd Cars that used to serve(?) the Upper
Harlem Line?
I hope not; their unreliability was legendary among those few of us
who were dependent upon them as a means of getting from the
then-terminus at Dover Plains (NY) to Brewster (later Brewster
North). IMHO they had long since outlived their usefulness.
Significantly, when they were replaced with modern equipment
ridership on that line jumped.
