Leipzig Hauptbahnhof/Endhaltestelle (Leipzig Zentraler Bahnhof)
Here is a train sitting inside the station from 1996:

It is from a page with other pictures of Saxony rail, mostly locomotives,
including steam, a shot of Bitterfield station and a female conductor
pulling a switch:

For an exterior view and one of the promenade with the shopping mall see:
(the mall is "American-style")

There are some photos of a different Leipzig rail station at the airport at:

There is also a restaurant in the Bavarian Station ...built 1842-1844 for
Saxony's first long distance train, Leipzig to Dresden, only four triumphal
arches survived World War Two...The oldest still used rail terminal in the
world, 2 KM from the Zentrale... reconstructed with columns, see a very
nice photo at:

n=Leipzig&pn=Leipzig
(remember if the address breaks to reconstruct it)
From http://www.lipsia.de/(eng)/tourismus/sehen/hbf/ :
Leipzig Central Railway Station
Europe's largest railway terminus with 24 platforms is situated on
Willy-Brandt-Platz, in the very centre of the city. Originally finished in
1915, the building was almost completely destroyed during World War II, and
reopened in 1965. It was one of Germany's first constructions using
reinforced steel. The twin entrance halls are unique: They were used as
separate entrance halls for the Prussian and the Saxon State Railways. The
whole building was reconstructed during 1996 and 1997 and now offers a
modern shopping mall on three levels. Leipzig Central Station is one of the
most important traffic junctions in central Germany with excellent
connections to Eastern Europe.
From http://www.uni-leipzig.de/fechnerday/generalinfo/sightsofleipzig.html :
Largest terminus station in Europe, with 26 platforms. The Railway Station
was built 1902-1915, with the eastern hall originally built for Saxon and
western hall for Prussian State Railways. During the 1990's it was
completely converted into a modern service complex for the 21st century, big
shopping center on three floors included!

The station has connections for long-distance, Eurocity, CityNightLine,
Intercity and Interregio (whatever that is) rail service, north, south,
east and west..
I was looking for better pictures but maybe I have to search in
German...there were three stamps with this station to, but haven't found
pictures yet...
