Not everywhere....they stopped him from mowing through the Village after 
the war (WW II), he never got to build his blocks wide N-S highway in 
Manhattan or his huge connector highways between the Midtown Tunnel and 
the Hudson Tunnel (or the Lincoln, or maybe both)...

At least Manhattan maybe because of influence succeeded in stopping 
him...I remember reading of another defeat in Brooklyn, I think 
downtown...but I forget this one..


But he did destroy the Bronx. parts of Brooklyn, transit expansion, and 
streetcars
