>>>A warm note of thanks to Bernie for so graciously sharing that with
you. A couple of quick "notes."
The number of items in the collection of "over 1 million" is correct.
The "two rooms and office..." is incorrect. We have a three car garage
with a retaining wall down the middle. Those two rooms are set up like
libraries and the bulk of the material in the house is therein. There
is a good bit of material in the utility room, dining car china other
than FEC and what is not in the garage is in the kitchen; Myrna's sewing
room has some material in it and the den (office) has an untold amount
of unsorted "stuff." In addition, we rent the loft of Myrna's son's
warehouse and the "large" items such as the train bulletins and the
station signs are there. You are all welcome to do your research with
us, just call, write or email first.
Never hesitate to inquire about station/depot or other RR or traction
views, as we occasionally advertise in "American Heritage" Magazine as
"The world's largest private collection of US railroad, trolley and city
scenes." We are not comparing ourselves with Bettman, but, on theother
hand, we do not have photos of Coke bottles, store mannequins or store
fronts in Europe, so if we can be of help, let us know. (The Bettman
Archive, incidentally, was purchased "in toto" by Bill Gates and is no
longer available for downloading or for the purchase or use of
individual images).
We buy individual photos/negs/slides/postcards and/or collections, and,
of course, sell and trade images from the collection.
Thanks again, Bernie!
