Depot museum marks 25 years

The Clio Area Historical Society will celebrate the Clio
Depot Historical Museum's 25th anniversary with an
open house from 1-4 p.m. Sunday.

Built in 1873, the old train station on the corner of
Railway Street and W. Vienna Road is one of the city's
oldest buildings.

In 1976, the historical society purchased the depot and
restored it to house the many artifacts the group had
collected, including 19th-century flags, quilts, farm
equipment and photographs.

During the open house, a tea will be held to honor three
of the original founding members: Jack and Clarice
Engelhart and Howard Storms.

The Engelharts are still caretakers of the museum, and
Storms is the society's treasurer.
