I have one addition to the joint LIRR/Brooklyn transit stuff on the LIRR =
site that they neglected I think...
There was a train from LIC that was originated from a revived Flushing =
and North Side Depot in Hunter's Point, Long Island City ran to =
Brighton Beach 1878 to 1879. It used that connection to the Brighton =
line at Franklin Junction at Atlantic, it looped around, I forget just =
how it looped back on to the Atlantic Div...
There is a connection that I think is missing from that page on joint =
ops at the LIRR (the above is just an additional service):
There was a connection at Sheepshead Bay Junction....this was a BRT =
train 1899-1907 that went from Park Row over the Brooklyn Bridge and via =
the Fulton El and went via the switch above Emmons Ave to Manhattan =
Beach (instead of Brighton),...I am not sure what exactly happened after =
the El was electrified since I never have heard that this section on =
Coney Island of the Manhattan Beach line was ever electrified but they =
did use this route to 1907
Paul....hmmm
