(LVRR) LVRR..what else???
I see that almost everything is'under construction'. I was hoping for a place where there'd be dDISCUSSION of the LV. A few years ago, I found a LV list among others - DL&W, D&H, etc. The LV list had about 7 or 8 pages......each page with about 30 or so entries. It may have been FALLENFLAGS..I'm not sure.
My mothers family for 3 generations labored for the LV - mostly at or near Coxton. we lived in West Pittston, Pa. I hired out on the ERIE in OHIO when I got out of the USAF in 1959. I transfered to Scranton after the EL merger. I used to go to Coxton & take fotos on my day off, but in the 60s, it was a shadow of its former self.
Am I missing something on this list??? Is there another page I'm too dumb to find? As a former engineer, I find it difficult to do computer stuff..far more so than running Baldwin switchers and GP9s of F3s.
I usually post on the erielack list since that is where I worked, but I have a soft spot for the old LVRR from when I'd walk to Coxton amd sit in the cabs of the Wyoming types in the roundhouse there where they sat dead (pretending to be going up the road).
Regards,
Walter E. Smith
PS, If u'd like to see one of my LV fotos, get the Spring,1996 issue of VINTAGE RAILS. They did a 2-page spread of Alco FAs & EMD F3s side by side on the sand track at Coxton.
