Re: (LVRR) Freeville NY 1960-1977

Dear Bill:
   Try the following:
Yungkurth "Steam Era on the Lehigh Valley" P71 for a picture of the freight
station outside looking SW?, a second picture looking N showing the passenger
station to the right and what seems to be a grain elevator to the left. There
is also an interior shot of the freight station on this page. Archer "History
of the Lehigh Vally p321 for a differnt view (lookingS?) of the freight
station. Marcham "Lehigh Valley Memories" p56 for a third view (looking NE?): p73
for a view of the freight station platform. "Tickets Please" p36 has a
picture of the 3rd passenger station. "Rails North" by the CNY chapter of the NRHS
p25 has an excellent photo of the passenger station at a time when 4 trains
stopped there at the same time. "A Short History of Tompkins County" p67 has
another view of the passenger station with the water tank in the background.
The DeWitt Historical Society of Tompkins County has a photo of the 2nd
passenger station. The Ithaca Journal dated 10-24-1970 has an article about Freeville
and a photo of the freight station. Lastly I would mention two other books:
one is about the EC & N (titled Ezra Cornell' Railroad or something to that
effect) and a book about the New York and Oswego Midland RR

Hope this helps

Pete Allen
