(LVRR) LV Dingens St. Station

Until about a month ago, my office was located about a block from the
station.
The main building itself is still standing, but is vacant. There is a "For
Lease" and "For Sale" sign on the front. For a while it was leased by a bank,
a restaurant, and a few other concerns, none of which worked out.
The platforms were ripped out in the early 70s to make room for a plaza that
is still there, although half of the tenants have left the complex.
The story I heard was the LV made the state pay for part of the station,
which would (hopefully and eventually) used by other lines, including EL. I
don't know how true that was.
I remember going there with my dad when I was a kid. I remember there was a
scale (about O scale) model of LV F3s A-B-B-A in a glass display case. I
wonder what happend to them? Any ideas?
