Re: (LVRR) LV detour on EL

Guys,
I can remember both being out of service due to Agnes and detouring over
the NYC line Buffalo to Syracuse and so forth to get to their respective
railroads. The LV had a particular problem with one of their bridges
settling during the storm and this can be found in the LV color books from
Morning Sun.
The EL later detoured over the LV while they had problems with the roof
collapsing in the Nicholson ( Factoryville) tunnel.
There may very well have been LV detours over the EL but these were
probably spotty due to derailments and most likely lasted only a few days
while the wrecking crews punched a hole through the wreck.
