Re: (LVRR) Looking for C628 Pictures



Thanks for the reply Alan.  The double sand filler units are indeed Moonon, 
they were the highest numbered of the LV C628s.  The  reason I am modelling 
640 is based on a couple things.  In the early 1970s, the LV detoured a 
bunch of trains on the EL Syracuse branch.  One of those trains had two 
C628s.  One Cornell Red #627 and an elephant.  I know its a elephant but I 
don't know what number.  I tried to figure out what number this engine could 
have been.  With the knowledge that LV tended not to break up units often, I 
looked for pics of Cornell Red #627, and 640 seemed to be right along with 
it sometimes.  Any further thoughts from anybody?

I did have a model of #627, but was unhappy with the color after it was done 
as well as some decalling errors, so I stripped it and its waiting to become 
D&H and I am keeping my eyes open for a Stewart factory done Cornell Red.
