Here's an article on something I never really knew. The DL&W had two plants for making concrete fence posts. As of 1915 over 100,000 had been manufactured. This article is from CONCRETE-CEMENT AGE Magazine, April 1915. The Lackawanna's first plant was at Boonton, NJ and then they added a second plant at Nichols, NY.

I admit I never paid close attention to the ROW boundries, but now I'll look for concrete posts. Just one more item that made the Lackawanna the "Road of Concrete".
