The 2453 was the Morristown car. Interestingly, it did not over-night in Morristown, at least not when I started paying attention in the 1960's. It came up early morning on an 8 car Morristown train trailing a car of express. The MU backed the car of express down the siding, then crossed over to the yard and added the last four cars in the yard, then went east as Train 508 with 12 cars. In the evening rush, it came west and then went right back to Hoboken on a local. At some point, this ended and the car spent the night in the Morristown Yard. Attached is a shot of the car in Hoboken on Saturday November 26, 1960.

Again, talking the 60's, the 2451 and 2455 were Dover cars and went east together on Train 612, a late rush hour train. One club car was upfront and the third car was the other club. The crews had a nickname for this train, something along the lines of "Bankers Express" which sort of fits with the relaxed banking of the era. I'm pretty sure these two club cars came back west in the evening rush on separate trains. I don't think the two Clubs on a single train lasted into the 70's.

The Club Cars were, to my knowledge, the only trailers ever to lead an east-bound MU. Can't have Club Car patrons having to walk too far to the ferry.

Our of curiosity, does anyone know why they were dismantled? Wrecked? No longer needed?

The cars seemed to be assigned to certain endpoints (for example, the 3454 was the Gladstone parlor) - does anyone know what the other ones were assigned to?

I have shots of the 3451, 3453, 3454, and 3455. My shot of the 3455 was of its converted state into a coach.
