Subject: EL Diner 741 - restoration progress

Hi folks,

Thought you all might enjoy this image taken earlier this week of
ELDCPS' Diner 741 at Midwest Locomotive undergoing its "paint
transformation", now that the body work has been completed.

What you can see here is that the body has been painted with a light
gray primer, the roof has been painted black, and the yellow paint for
the 1" pinstriping has been applied. You can also see the stripes are
already masked off. Next step will be application of the maroon paint to
the ends and on the areas where the lettering will appear (letterboard
and under the windows in the center). After the lettering has been
masked off, EL gray paint will complete the car's exterior paintjob!

Of cou <> rse, work isn't completely done on this car -
there's still lots of interior work to be done, and more fundraising to
be done to support this. The ELDCPS will be running a series of trips
out of Scranton in November to help fund this work. You can support our
effort by riding these trips, the first ones behind restored Erie E8
