Wednesday, 9/27 and we have several problems on the Mahoning including
derailments at Riverbed Yd, Steve will address these.

WB Fleet:

TC-99: Dp HF 25" late with a big 107 car train.

SC-99: Dp HF 30" AOS

SLCB: Dp HF OT

NY-99: Dp HF 35" late acct b/o cab with big train of 67 loads.

That's 4 trains Dp HF WB in less than 3 hrs. I note the variance from
scheduled times but for symbol merchandise trains, anything under 1 hr late
is essentially OT.

BM-7: Ar HF 85" late

A/CX-99: looks like 90" AOS at HF, includes PB-99 cars. s/o 4 (p/u at Bingo)
and p/u 4 CO TOFC.

Will operate on EB main thru Corry as Steve describes below. Acc to Steve,
EYE Tower was a PRR facility that controlled the CTC on the branch to Erie
PA, also controlled Erie Xing of an industrial spur that served industries
south of the Erie main. Xover at EYE was trailing point.but facing point for
running wrong main, so no backup move necessary.

CX-99: 49 loads behind a pair of SDP45's just like 9/26, OT and will lap the
NY-97.

NY-97: Arrives V ahead of CX-99 but will follow due to engine change. Will
change engines again at HF, an unusual occurrance. 4 Jamestown (empty
Carnation COFC), 33 GN, 33 CO, 1 GN, 6 HF (probably mostly Clevelands).

BM-9: preblocked at BX with 8 BRC, 49 GN and 16 Lima, boomer SD45, and
apparently is to p/u 44 Huntingtons at Attica taken off the rear end of BM-7
, which obviously operated via River Line early this morning. Why? Perhaps
one of BM-7's SD's went off-line?

NE-97: Will Dp PO approx. 2'30" late behind BN pool power off NE-74. 77 NY
Div'n cars plus "conn", meaning XC late off PC-H. Depending on tonnage,
(more than likely because mostly empties), may p/u 36 GN at UK. These are
often p/u by NY-97 9 hrs earlier.

EB Fleet:

PB-100: Approx 1 hr AOS with 19 loads behind single 3-axle unit; nothing
unusual here, figure approx. 3 hpt, and switch out 2 b/o cars at HF.

NY-100: approx. 90" AOS

TC-100: approx. OT with big 106 car train that includes 34 D&H today because
no PO-98.

That's 3 EB in 2 hr or less!

SFE-100: approx. 1 hr late, will add an F7B due to p/u tonnage at HF.

2/NY-100: approx. 90" AOS, will change engines at HF

NYCB: approx. 40" AOS, refuel at HF

PN-98: Dp GN 30" late, looks like behind lone SD but adds 2502 and 2452 at
Galion, the eastern limit of the Erie/Big Four paired track arrangement to
Marion and east of Galion was the hilly portion of the Marion Division. 2502
came west on #61 on 9/26.

Addressing Paul's comments---

Yesterday we had a derailment of a 3300 at Columbus Road in Cleveland (MP
1.01) between Bridge 2.22 and River Bed. Today two 3300's derailed at
Spruce Street MP 0.25 just east of the River Bed Yard office. Coincidence
that three 3300's derailed? I believe so. But, hindsight was put into play
and 3300's were restricted from the River Bed. (That restriction was
short-lived. Trainmaster wants to use 3300's to clean out the River Bed
prior to the start of Steamer Green. I don't recall the restriction and am
sure it was quickly rescinded as 3300's were often used.)

Another derailment--also in a bad place. #38, HF-J wayfreight derailed
engine just east of Corry Tower on the Hole Track switch (that leads to an
industry [the foundry] north of the old PRR. ACX-99 will use #2 track from
CM through MS at Corry and cross back over at EYE Tower (that crossover was
a hand throw, not part of the interlocking at EYE).

BM-7/BM-9 There was a period of time when the B&SW between Buffalo and
Waterboro was transferred to the Buffalo Division and dispatched by them.
There may have been a derailment on the B&SW and it would not show on Jim's
turnover due to being BX Divn. BM-7 via NT was very unusual.

PN-98 power. Could be power changes on Marion Divn so they could run an
Akron-Marion extra, or an extra from Harding to get cars from Maion.

Comments on Jim's turnover--

Also, another derailment--a 3300 and a 2500 at the west end of the River Bed
Yard.

Steamer Green due River Bed at 1900 to make 287 Warren Ore. Everyone in the
M of W, M of E, and Transportation Depts are probably on "high alert" to get
things back in order before the Green docks.

155 shuttling some four-wheelers to Cleveland for drag up service.

XN Turn was ordered and busted, re-ordered. DOT man shopped two units for
oil under the main generator. An easy clean-up at DO shop. Should be able
to make the interchange per diem at XN and return with 34 Ohio Works coke.

DO Shop at Brier Hill is in a constant mode of adding and changing power on
first district trains. MC03 drops one and gets one at DO. CM-2 has 3313
with accident damage (yesterday's derailment)--brakes cut out of one truck.
78 to drop one unit. Busy place.

Other than the two derailments at Cleveland and the one at Corry, things are
running fairly smooth. Traffic is growing toward the end of the week.
Constant problem at Meadville is an engine for tomorrow's #38.
